Kerpro tamponade strip for ingrown nails (10M)

This thin tamponade is used during the treatment of ingrown toenails, an inflamed wound around the toenail or a wound near the toenail where there is a chance of infection. With the tamponade you can lift the nail fold a little and relieve pressure. You do this by rolling up a piece of the fine-meshed gauze bandage (also called a nail tampon) and placing it between the nail fold and the skin of the wound. This disinfects the wound and the skin around it and at the same time makes the gauze bandage less stiff, making it easier to apply. It is also possible to use liquid disinfectant, but this must then be dripped more often, because the moisture of the disinfectant evaporates, causing the disinfecting effect to disappear.
