The innovative company LUKAS produces sanding points with thermal action: the patented color change technology allows early detection of overheating risks. This way, both patients and podiatrists or pedicure specialists feel more confident.

The color change technology provides two warning levels and provides timely information about the risks of skin overheating. The specialist performing the procedure can immediately respond to the danger by reducing pressure, starting treatment of another area or temporarily stopping work. The patient does not experience any unpleasant sensations, such as itching or pain. The risk of burns due to overheating is virtually eliminated.

Diabetics will especially appreciate the use of this advanced solution in medical pedicure and podiatry procedures. Due to the reduced sensitivity of the feet, diabetics often discover overheating too late or start to feel pain (neuropathy). In the worst case, neither the podiatrist nor the patient will notice the temperature increase during the procedure. The situation is furthermore complicated by the slow regeneration characteristic of diabetes. Conventional tools such as drills, diamond burs or scalpels can cause injuries such as burns or cuts and are therefore not recommended for use in diabetic patients.
